Vega Earns All-Southern Conference Honors

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- East Tennessee State junior Paty Vega earned All-Southern Conference honors it was announced today.

A 1998 All-SoCon honoree, Vega is 15-12 so far this season, 5-4 in conference matches. She has played at the No. 1 singles position all spring and is 9-9 in that spot. Vega ranks third on ETSU's All-Time Singles Win List with 64 career victories.

Vega and her teammates entered this weekend's Southern Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing the season 8-1 in Conference play. They advanced to the semifinals with a 5-0 win over UNC Greensboro today. ETSU will return to action tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. when they face the winner of Chattanooga and the College of Charleston.
