Men's Golf Victorious in NCAA East Regional

Johnson City, Tenn. - The East Tennessee State University men's golf team won their third consecutive tournament after shooting a final-round 12-under par 276 in the NCAA East Regional from the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va., hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University.
The 13th ranked Bucs finished the tournament at 36-under par (274-278-276=828), eight strokes in front of North Carolina State.
Senior All-American Chris Wisler, sophomore Adam Riddering and sophomore James Johnson played almost flawless final-round golf. The seventh-ranked Wisler shot a final round 67 (-5) to finish in a tie for third at 12-under par (68-69-67=204). Wisler carded six birdies and just one bogey on the day. The NCAA East Regional is the fifth straight tournament in which Wisler has finished in the top-5 individually.
Riddering shot a third-round 70 (-2) to finish in sixth place at 8-under par. The sixth place finish is the best of Riddering's ETSU career. The sophomore fired three birdies against just one bogey in the final round.
Sophomore Thomas Lee shot a 2-under par 70 in the final round to finish in a tie for 10th at 6-under par (66-74-70=210)
Johnson moved nine spots up the leaderboard on Saturday after shooting a 3-under par 69. The sophomore finished in a tie for 17th at 5-under par (70-72-69=211) after carding four birdies and just one bogey in the final round.
Senior Pat Beste was the final Buccaneer finisher, tying for 40th at 2-under par (71-69-74=214) after shooting a 2-over par 74 in his final round of play.
The Buccaneers now turn their attention to the NCAA Championships, May 30-June 2 from Durham, N.C., hosted by Duke University.
