JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State mens golf team shot a final-round 289 to finish sixth in The Intercollegiate from Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Buccaneers (288-292-289=869) finished 13 strokes behind the champions, the Duke Blue Devils.
Senior Chris Wisler made a hard charge toward the lead in his final two rounds, with a 70 and a 68. His 68 was the second-best final round score. Wisler finished in a tie for fourth at 4-under par (74-70-68=212), three shots back of individual medalist Kevin Steelman of Duke.
