Wednesday, April 25, 2001

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State University athletic department announced today that Keeton Brooks has signed a National Letter of Intent to join head coach Ed DeChellis' basketball program for the 2001-02 season.

The Tampa, Fla. native averaged 18.2 points and 3.5 assists per game during his senior season. The 6 .4" perimeter guard was a McDonald .s All-America nominee and earned Second Team All-County honors.

Brooks was a prep school teammate of Tiras Wade, a 6 .7" guard that signed an NLI with East Tennessee State on April 25. Brooks and Wade both played for head coach Adrian Johnson at Tampa Tech High School.

"Keeton is a very strong guard who has the ability to play both wing positions," DeChellis said. "He is an outstanding shooter and perimeter scorer. We are very excited to have him joining our program."
