Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men's tennis team kicks off their 2001 Spring season on the weekend of January 26 and 27th.

Coming off a perfect 10-0 Southern Conference regular-season in 2000, the Bucs will face William & Mary on January 26 at the Fort Sanders-West Racquet Club and Kentucky on January 27 at the Cedar Bluff Racquet Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Bucs will be led by last year's Southern Conference Player of the Year, senior Gustavo Gomez who finished with a 27-11 overall singles record last season.

All-Southern Conference performers Marcos Palvovich, Juan Yannuzzi and Roberto Fernandez, who all posted at least 24 singles wins last season, will also be returning for the 2001 campaign.
