East Tennessee State Announces Annual Snow Volley's Tennis Tournament

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men's tennis team will continue a winter tradition as it hosts the annual Snow Volleys Doubles Tennis Championships from Jan. 4 through Jan. 14, 2001 on the Memorial Center's Tennis Courts.

Action begins on Thursday, Jan. 4 with the women's first and second-round matches scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Men's matches begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5. Players and guests can come be a part of Super Snow Volleys Saturday by supporting Buccaneer basketball on Saturday, Jan. 6, when the Bucs take on Southern Conference rival The Citadel in a 3:00 p.m. tilt, followed at 5 p.m. by a players party sponsored by The Firehouse Restaurant and hosted by the Carnegie Hotel.

The event concludes Sunday with the championships scheduled for a 2 p.m. start and consolation finals at 6:30.

A championship buffett style dinner for all participants, sponsors, and patrons will be held in the Memorial Center, Sunday, Jan.14 at 4:30 p.m. and is hosted by Makato's Japanese Seafood and Steakhouse.

The tournament is open to all adults age 19 or older that currently play in NTRP divisions 3.0 through Open. The registration fee is $35 for the first entry and $25 for the second entry. For more information feel free to contact Head Men's Tennis Coach Dave Mullins at (423) 439-5262.
