Knoxville, Tenn. -- Juniors Roberto Fernandez and Pablo Sahagun competed in the University of Tennessee Fall Classic this weekend at the Varsity Tennis Center on the UT campus. Fernandez began the tournament by facing Mirsad Begic of Toledo Friday morning. The match went three sets with Fernandez winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. In the second round, Simon Tremblay of Tennessee Tech was Fernandez's next opponent. Tremblay lost to Fernandez in a tough match 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(5). Paulo Carvalho of Louisville would defeat Fernandez in the third round in two sets 6-3, 6-3. Sahagun received a bye in the first round. Michael Maddox of Tennessee was Sahagun's second round opponent. Maddox defeats Sahagun 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. In doubles action, Fernandez and Sahagun teamed together to take on Toledo's Dipesh Rao and Alex Farran-Mahon. The Bucs were defeated 9-7 in a tough match.
