ETSU's Casey Signs To Play With Cleveland

Johnson City, Tenn. (June 19, 2002) - Reid Casey (Kingsport, Tenn.), who just recently completed his final season with East Tennessee State's baseball team, has signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Indians organization. Casey will report to the Burlington Indians of the Appalachian League this weekend when the team is in Johnson City to play the Cardinals. Casey finished his career with a 9-6 record for the Buccaneers with a 4.88 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 110.2 innings of work on the mound as a starter. He was named a second team All-Southern Conference performer and finished as ETSU's all-time leader in strikeouts (323), innings pitched (410.1) and games started (60).
