Johnson City, Tenn. (Jan. 28, 2001) - East Tennessee State's baseball team has been selected for a seventh-place finish in the 2002 Southern Conference baseball season in polls released today by the conference. The voting in the polls was done by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Head Coach Tony Skole is beginning his third season at East Tennessee State and returns six position starters and nine of its 10 pitchers from last year's squad that also finished seventh in the conference with an overall record of 23-32, 13-17 in league action. The Bucs will begin play on Feb. 15 when they open a three-game series at national power South Carolina.
