Tiras Wade named to South Florida Shootout All Tournament team

TAMPA, Fla. (December 30, 2002) - East Tennessee State University sophomore Tiras Wade has been named to the South Florida Shootout All Tournament team after his performance against Belmont and South Florida on December 28th and 29th. The Tampa native made the most of his return home scoring 15 points on 6-12 shooting and grabbing 11 boards in the Buccaneers 71-61 victory over Belmont. The following night Wade scored 13 points in the championship game as the Buccaneers fell to host South Florida 68-56. For the tournament Wade shot 45 percent from the field, averaging 14 points per game and tallied 17 boards. On the season, Wade is leading the Buccaneers in scoring, shooting 46 percent from the field while averaging 16 points per game. He is also third on the team in rebounds averaging 5.1 per contest. ETSU will return home on Jan. 2 as they take on Juniata. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. following the Lady Buccaneers conference opener against intrastate rival Chattanooga at 5:15 p.m.
