East Tennessee State Head Softball Coach Resigns to Take Post at UNC Greensboro

Johnson City, Tenn. (July 24, 2002) -- East Tennessee State University head softball coach Stephanie DeFeo has resigned from ETSU to accept the head coaching position at UNC Greensboro. DeFeo guided the Bucs to a 39-67 record during the first two seasons of ETSU softball, with a 25-32 record (9-12 SoCon) and a fifth place finish in the Southern Conference last season. ETSU finished last season with a fourth place finish in the 2002 SoCon Tournament. The Bucs were 14-35 (9-11 SoCon) in the program's first season and DeFeo's first as a collegiate head coach in 2001.
