JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 14, 2003) -- East Tennessee State's baseball team is in full swing as the Buccaneers have begun practicing for the 2003 spring season. You can bet head coach Tony Skole will have his players ready to compete for a Southern Conference championship, as his team gears up for a tough non-conference schedule. Among the non-conference teams ETSU will play this season include Mississippi State and Clemson, which are ranked No. 17 and No. 19, respectively, in Baseball America's pre-season poll. Last season ETSU finished 21-36 overall and 13-16 in the Southern Conference. The Bucs will open their schedule at home in a weekend series versus Xavier beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Cardinal Park in Johnson City.
