Buccaneer women's tennis closes out road trip falling 4-3 to Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 22, 2003) - East Tennessee State University's women's tennis team closed out a long road trip dropping a 4-3 decision to Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers have been on the road since March 15 playing five matches in seven days. In doubles, Charleston Southern won the point winning the first two matches. Jewel Aldea (Charleston, S.C.) and Courtney McInnis (Waterboro, Maine) won the number three doubles match, 8-1, versus Charleston Southern's Said and Kennedy. In singles play, the Buccaneers received victories from Aldea at number three singles, Courtney McInnis at number four, and Aimee Villavicencio (Lexington, Ky.) at number six.-1 Today's loss marked the third time in five matches that the Buccaneers fell 4-3. ETSU's record falls to 8-11, 0-3 in on the season. "We are playing to good to be 8-11 right now," Buccaneer head coach Steve Brooks said. "Hopefully tomorrow we will turn things around and get back on the winning track." The Buccaneers will host SoCon foe Western Carolina tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the ETSU tennis complex.
