JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 21, 2003) - East Tennessee State University's, Kim Simmons set the Buccaneer 400-meter record, Saturday, at the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships. The junior's time of 54.96 broke the record held by Jennifer Howard (55.01). The Knoxville, Tenn. native not only set an ETSU record but also set a regional qualifying time en route to a second place conference finish. Simmons ran in six events over the weekend including the 400-meters and the 400 hurdles. She also helped guide the Buccaneer 4x400 and 4x100 relay teams to second and third place finishes.
