CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Tiffany Patton scored a career-high 20 points as part of her first career double-double, as the Lady Mocs dropped Southern Conference foe East Tennessee State 90-72 Saturday night. Patton had 16 points in the first half as Chattanooga (16-3 overall, 9-1 SoCon) had its best shooting half of the season (24-for-37, 64.9 percent). The Lady Mocs led by as much as 26 points in the first half and took a 58-33 leading at intermission. The Lady Mocs used an 11-0 spurt to take the game from a 17-13 lead to 28-13 at the 11:05 mark. It never got below double digits the rest of the way and Katasha Brown's second 3-pointer of the first half put UTC up 54-28 with 1:35 left in the half. ETSU (6-13, 3-7) made a second-half push as Lauren Trantham (Asheville, N.C.) scored 10 of her team-high 14 points. The Bucs pulled within 72-58 on Tiffani Mayes' (Sumter, S.C.) bucket with 7:30 left, but Chattanooga went on a 10-2 spurt to thwart the rally. "I was very pleased with the first half," Moore said. "We stressed getting the ball inside and Tiffany had a great half because of that. She finished pretty well tonight. In the second half, I was disappointed with our team defensive effort. We've got to put 40 minutes together." Patton finished with a season-high 10 rebounds to lead UTC's domination on the glass 45-35. Brown finished with 15 points, her best outing since 18 points in the season-opener vs. Georgia. Miranda Warfield chipped in 10 points and Shamya Sermons nine. Angela Hunter tied a career high with six assists and Heather McDivitt dished out five. ETSU had a quartet of double-digit scorers led by Trantham.
