BucSports, ETSU to host High School-Middle School Assessment

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 6, 2003) - In cooperation with the Mountain Empire Sports Medicine Society, the East Tennessee State University athletics department and BucSports Medicine Center are offering high school and middle school teams an opportunity to undergo athletic assessments for the 2003-04 school year. This event - which is scheduled for Friday, May 9 beginning at 7:30 a.m. - gives coaches the chance to bring their players to Memorial Center on the ETSU campus and get their required physical check-ups for the upcoming school year. "The biggest thing is the coaches can bring their team's as a group," said Jerry Robertson, ETSU's head athletic trainer and director of BucSports. "The teams can get all their physicals out of the way and not have to worry about them." Between 1,800 and 2,000 student-athletes participated in the event last year, and coaches wishing to have their teams involved in this year's assessment must contact David Graham at 282-9011 to make reservations.
