MURRAY, Ky. (April 5, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University women's golf team placed two players in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard and finished in third place as a team after first and second round play Monday at the Big River Telephone Company Lady Racer Classic hosted by Murray State. With one round left to play on Tuesday, ETSU senior Kristen Fletcher (Cookeville, Tenn.) and sophomore Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) are currently tied for eighth and 10th, respectively. Fletcher shot a two-round score of 13-over-par, while Barton is one stroke back of her teammates total at 14-over. Fletcher and Barton are chasing Kentucky's Eva Gessner, the second-round leader at 6-over. Kentucky also leads the team event by four strokes over Murray State, followed by the Lady Buccaneers, who are 28 strokes off the pace heading into the third round. As for the rest of the Lady Bucs, sophomore Laura Diaz (Aquadilla, P.R.) is currently tied for 15th at 17-over, while junior Danielle O'Reilly (Vancouver, British Columbia) is tied for 27th and junior Robin Downes (Johnson City, Tenn.) is tied for 39th.
