HONOLULU (Dec. 26, 2003) - The East Tennessee State University men's basketball team took a break from preparation for the Rainbow Classic on Friday, spending part of the day visiting the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. "We think it's important for our players to visit such an important national memorial," said ETSU head coach Murry Bartow. "This trip is important from both an educational and athletic standpoint. Yes, we want to play well in the tournament, but we also want our players to learn something about the Hawaiian culture and American history." ETSU will return its attention to basketball on Saturday, as they take on Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis in the first round of the Rainbow Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii. The game is scheduled to tip at 10 p.m. (EST). The Bucs (7-2) are off to their best start since the 1991-92 season. Fans can listen to the game on the Buccaneer Sports Network, via local affiliates on through the live internet connection available right here on etsubucs.com.
