Salazar Falls to Fisher in Qualifying Round

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 8, 2003) - East Tennessee State's Alejandro Salazar (Arequipa, Peru) was defeated by Bryan Fisher of LSU 7-6 (4), 6-0 Tuesday in the first qualifying round of the Icy Hot/ITA All-American held in Chattanooga. The senior won his first four of five pre-qualifying matches, falling to Nate Emge of Kentucky in the round of 16 on Monday, 6-4, 6-2. He advanced into the qualifying rounds as a lucky loser where he lost to Fisher who finished last year ranked 101 playing primarily in the No. 3 position. Salazar and the ETSU men's tennis team will now travel to Atlanta to participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational this weekend from October 10th thru the 12th.
