Women's Soccer Announces 2004 Schedule

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 21, 2004) - East Tennessee State University head women's soccer coach Heather Henson has released the Buccaneer soccer schedule for the 2004 season. The Buccaneers will host seven games in 2004, five of those being Southern Conference matches. The non-conference schedule includes a scrimmage against former SoCon foe VMI and dates against Winthrop, Tennessee Tech, UNC Asheville, Radford, and Georgia State and Jacksonville State at the Georgia State Invitational Tournament. "I feel next season's schedule will continue to challenge us as a team and a program. It will see us on the road more than half the season, which is always tough." "I believe the Southern Conference is getting tougher every year, with all of our teams making big strides. As programs are continuing to grow, every game is becoming more important." The first conference match up for the Buccaneers will be a road match against the Citadel. ETSU will look to hold the Citadel winless as the series record between the two schools currently stands at 3-0 in the Bucs favor. ETSU will open up the season officially on Aug. 29 as they host the Winthrop Eagles at the Liberty Bell Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. The complete scheduled is available on the 2004 schedule link located on the right sidebar of the women's soccer homepage.
