ERWIN, Tenn. (September 8, 2003) - Last Saturday the Lady Bucs soccer team held a soccer clinic at the Unicoi county YMCA. The clinic was a great success as 85 young children from the YMCA parks and recreation program in Erwin attended the event. The organizers of the Erwin YMCA worked diligently to help increase attendance and make the event a success.
"We had many new faces at the clinic, but we also have many familiar faces back from last years clinic," said head coach Heather Henson. "You could feel the energy between the ETSU players and the children. Everyone was having fun playing soccer. The children came away from the clinic with some new soccer tricks, skills, and many women's role models that are collegiate soccer players.
The soccer clinic held in Erwin was the second clinic that the Lady Bucs have held this year.
"We really enjoy the soccer clinics in the community," said Henson. "It is our opportunity to show to the community how important they are to ETSU Soccer. We appreciate all of the community's support and smiling faces."
The Lady Bucs invite soccer fans to join them at Shoeless Joe's on Sunday, September 21st to watch the Women's World Cup Game, USA vs. Sweden. The team will arrive at Shoeless Joe's at noon and the World Cup Game is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
