Southern Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll Released

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (August 21, 2003) - The Southern Conference released the women's soccer preseason poll today, as selected by the conference's head coaches. East Tennessee State University was selected to finish 11th in the conference with 33 points only three points away from Appalachian State, which was ranked 10th. Furman University, who won the conference title in 2002, was picked to win the 2003 title earning seven first-place votes and 97 points. The Southern Conference also announced a 13-member preseason all-league team as named by the coaches. ETSU will hold a preseason scrimmage against VMI tomorrow night at Civitan Park.
