JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 22 & 23, 2004) -- ETSU student-athletes, cheerleaders and coaches took part in the 2004 Spring Fling Golf Tournament at Buffalo Valley and Pine Oaks golf courses on Saturday and Sunday. The Bucs were at the Spring Fling to help raise money for the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics' Alcohol Awareness Task Force, which is sponsored by Clyce Distributing. The Spring Fling was also sponsored by Clyce, making it the perfect cooperative effort. Golfers were given the opportunity to visit with Buc cheerleaders, use a drive from ETSU golfer Andrew Paduch, or have ETSU women's golf coach Stefanie Reynolds help them with a putt. Donations by the golfers will go directly to the AATF to help promote responsible use of alcohol. The AATF was initiated last year by the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through funding provided by Clyce Distributing and its CEO Bill Breeding. The AATF's main goal is to educate ETSU students on the dangers of underage drinking and alcohol abuse.
