JOHNSON CITY, TENN. (August 20, 2004) - East Tennessee State softball coach Amy Fuller has announced the hiring of Blake Miller as the newest member of the Lady Bucs coaching staff. Miller, a graduate of University of North Carolina Pembroke and more recently receiving his master's of business administration from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Col., brings professional and international playing experience to ETSU. "Blake is going to be an exceptional addition to the ETSU softball staff. His fastpitch background is exemplary and I know that he will make an immediate and positive impact on the entire athletics staff. We are very fortunate to have him join us for the 2004-2005 year," Fuller said. After playing four years of collegiate baseball at Pembroke, Miller went on to play Men's Fast Pitch Softball from 1995-2003, where in 2003 he garnered a spot on the United State Men's National Fast Pitch team. Prior to his arrival at ETSU, Miller served as the assistant women's softball coach at Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph, Mo. during the 2004 season and also served as the assistant coach at Mesa State College for the 2002-03 campaign. During his professional playing career, Miller won a gold medal playing in the Pan American Qualifier in Guatemala in 2002 and then received a silver medal playing in the Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic in 2003.
