Insaurralde named SoCon men's tennis athlete of the month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 3, 2005) - The Southern Conference announced today that East Tennessee State's Felix Insaurralde has been named as the Southern Conference's men's tennis athlete of the month for the April.

ETSU's Insaurralde helped lead the Bucs to the SoCon regular season and conference tournament titles in April. The sophomore from Asunción, Paraguay, went 5-1 at No. 2 singles, winning all three of his singles matches at the conference tournament. He was also 5-0 in doubles action with partner Lisandro Picardo. Insaurralde was tabbed the Most Outstanding Player at the men's tennis tournament and was a first team all-conference pick in singles and second team all-conference selection in doubles.

Insaurralde and the Bucs currently await the announcement of their opponent for the first round of the NCAA tournament which will be announce Wednesday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNews.
