SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Mar. 9, 2005) - Felix Insaurralde of East Tennessee State has been named the SoCon Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 9.

Insaurralde, a sophomore from Asunción, Paraguay, posted a 2-0 SoCon record on the week. On March 3, Insaurraldle knocked off last year's SoCon player of the year, Or Dekel of the College of Charleston, 6-3, 6-0 at the number three spot. Three days later, Insaurralde downed The Citadel's James Eason, 6-2, 6-3. Insaurralde is 20-7 on the season and is currently on a five-match winning streak.

"Felix is a great contributor to our team," stated Head Coach Yaser Zaatini. "Making the transition from No. 6 last season to No. 3 this year shows his great style and leadership abilities. He is truly deserving of this honor."

Insaurralde and the Bucs returns to action tomorrow as they face Florida A&M in their first home match of the season beginning at noon.
