Chapel Hill, N.C. (Oct. 22, 2004) - The East Tennessee State men's tennis team completed the second day of competition in the Wilson-ITA Mideast Region Championships held in Chapel Hill, N.C.

            ETSU was represented by Fernando Fiuri (Villa Maria, Argentina), Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela), and Felix Insaurralde (Asunción, Paraguay) as main draw singles action began today.

            Posada who earned the No. 13 seed in the draw had a first round bye. He then fell to Stephen Amritraj in a 6-4, 6-3 battle in the round of 64.

Sophomore Insaurralde was eliminated in the round of 128 to Liron Strauss of Wake Forest in a 6-3, 7-6 (5) decision, and senior Fiuri dropped his match 6-3, 6-2 to Henrique Cancado of Old Dominion.

            The Bucs now look ahead to the UNLV tournament on November 5-7.
