Wednesday, May 25, 2005

(May 25, 2005) - East Tennessee State seniors Caleb Moore (Knoxville, Tenn.), Nick Crowe (Johnson City, Tenn.), juniors Chuck Hargis (Powell, Tenn.), Jeremy Hall (Gray, Tenn.), Blake Church (Roswell, Ga.), Shane Byrne (Johnson City, Tenn.) were named to the 2005 All-Southern Conference Baseball Team Wednesday afternoon on day one of the SoCon Tournament from Riley Park in Charleston, S.C.

The Bucs' six all-conference selections were second-best in the conference surpassed only by regular-season champion College of Charleston's seven players that were named to the team.

Moore was a first-team selection as a catcher while Hargis was the first-team shortstop and Church tied for first-team designated hitter honors. Crowe was the second-team second baseman, Byrne was a second-team outfielder while Hall and Moore were both selected as second-team pitchers.

Moore was also the first-team catcher last season, but the other five Buccaneers are first-time selections.

East Tennessee State will play Georgia Southern in the first round of the SoCon Tournament this afternoon from Riley Park in Charleston, S.C.
