ETSU falls to Furman Paladins to end regular season play, 3-0

Greenville, S.C. (October 31, 2004) - East Tennessee State was dealt a loss by Furman who netted three goals in the regular season finale for both teams on Sunday afternoon at Stone Soccer Stadium.

Emily Kranowski opened the scoring at the 35:40 mark.  After a throw in, Krankowski dribble around a Buccaneer defender and bounced a shot off the far post from 20 yards out on the left side of the box.

            Katie Tucker stretched the Furman advantage to 2-0 just 1:20 after the halftime break.  The Charlotte, N.C., native fired a shot off of ETSU keeper Christine Parks (Annapolis, Md.) and pounced on the rebound for her fourth goal of the season.

            Catie Miller capped the Lady Paladin scoring with her first career goal for the 3-0 final. 

            Furman outshot the Bucs 27-2 and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Parks stopped eight shots in goal for East Tennessee State, while Andie Hinshaw picked up the shutout in net for Furman recording one save. 

 East Tennessee State concludes the regular season with a 5-8-4 overall record and 2-5-4 league mark and awaits their fate in the SoCon tournament race, which will be determined later this evening. Furman finishes the regular season 11-8-0 overall and 9-2-0 in Southern Conference play and will enter next weekend's Southern Conference tournament with the second seed.
