TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 6, 2006) - Junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) and freshman Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland) both posted sub-70 rounds to help the 11th-ranked ETSU men's golf team increase its lead during second round play Monday in the Seminole Intercollegiate at the Golden Eagle Country Club.

The Buccaneers, who posted a team score of 278 during the second round, currently lead the event by five strokes over Coastal Carolina with a total score of 560. On the individual leaderboard, Dustin Johnson of Coastal continues to lead at 11-under, while Findlay is five strokes back in fourth place, Davies is six strokes back in fifth, and sophomore Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) is seven strokes back and tied for sixth.

Findlay posted the best ETSU score of the day with a 4-under 68, with Davies collecting a 3-under 69, and Shaw finishing with his second straight 2-under 70. For Findlay, it was a career best round, while the team enjoyed its best team score since the 2000-‘01 season.

"We played well, with Jordan, Rhys, Gareth and Adam all looking good," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "As a team, 3-under is a really positive score, but the interesting part is we could have been even better. That potential was there. We look forward to playing tomorrow."

Freshman Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England) posted a 1-under 71 on Monday, and is joined by sophomore teammate Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) in a tie for 35th at 4-over for the event.

Davies said the key to the Bucs' success has been simple.

"It's just consistency," Davies said. "We're not making a lot of mistakes and our course management has been really good. Everyone is just playing solid, and obviously, to be in contention is a lot of fun. We'll try to do the same thing tomorrow."
