ETSU men's golf moves to No. 18 in national rankings; Davies remains No. 4 on individual list

Monday, October 24, 2005

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2005) - The ETSU men's golf team continues to maintain a strong standing in the weekly Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, moving up from No. 21 to No. 18 as a team in this week's poll. The Bucs are currently ranked ahead of teams such as South Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, Auburn and Augusta State.

On the individual rankings list, junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) remains in the No. 4 spot. Davies has two wins in three events so far this season, while the players ranked ahead of him have not played more than two events in total this fall. In fact, Davies beat one of the players ranked ahead of him - South Carolina's Florian Fritsch - in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges just over a week ago.
