MACON, Ga. (Jan. 21, 2006) - The ETSU men's basketball team got an all-around effort from its entire roster and double figure scoring from four players to take an 104-81 victory over the Mercer Bears in Atlantic Sun Conference play Saturday afternoon at the University Center.

The Bucs have now won nine of their last 10 games and improve to 10-7 overall, 7-3 in A-Sun play. Meanwhile, the Bears dropped to 3-12, 2-7.

Early on the Bears held in the game, leading 29-23 midway through the first half. However, at that point ETSU head coach Murry Bartow substituted five new players into the game for the starters, including freshmen Dante Williams (Romulus, Mich.) and Tayloe Taylor (Memphis), sophomore Andrew Reed (Port Richey, Fla.), junior Eryk Thomas (Fremont, Calif.), and junior Travis Strong (Memphis).

That group promptly went on a 17-0 run to take a 40-29 lead and basically never looked back from there. The Bucs had eight players score at least eight point or more, led by a game-high 23 points from senior guard Tim Smith (Newport News, Va.), while senior forward Dillion Sneed (Chicago) pitched in 16 points and eight rebounds. Along with Sneed and Smith, freshman Courtney Pigram (Memphis) added 15 points and senior Ben Rhoda (Dayton, Ohio) netted 10. Thomas, Williams, Reed and Strong threw in eight apiece.

All in all, the Bucs dominated several statistical categories, out-rebounding the Bears, 48-31, shooting 52 percent from the floor and from 3-point range, while forcing 14 turnovers and grabbing 10 steals.

The Bucs come off the road with two straight wins and will be back inside Memorial Center for Wednesday's matchup with Kennesaw State at 7 p.m.
