ETSU men's tennis defeats Florida Atlantic, 5-0

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 9, 2006) - The ETSU men's tennis team continued their winning streak as they defeated conference opponent Florida Atlantic, 5-0. The Bucs are now 12-5 on the year while the Owls fall to 1-9 with the loss.

 

The Bucs dominated the Owls in singles play, winning all five of the matches. In No. 1 singles, Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) defeated David Demers, 6-3, 6-2, while Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) defeated Kevin Obletz, 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 2 position. In the No. 3 slot, Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) defeated J.P. Bounassar, 6-2, 6-3. Lisandro Picardo (Mar del Plata, Argentina) defeated Mauricio Paiz, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 4 position. In the No. 5 position Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) defeated Akin Akman, 6-1, 6-0.

 

The Buccaneers next match is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, to take on conference foe Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. at 3 p.m.
