Men's Tennis Advances at USC

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 15, 2005) - The ETSU men's tennis team continued action at the University of South Carolina on Saturday advancing several to tomorrows final.    

 

In A singles, Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) lost to Blake Stroud of UARK, 6-3, 6-3.  Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) lost to Or Dekel of Charlotte, 6-1, 6-1.  Juan Crosa (Asuncion, Paraguay) defeated Matt Struble of Temple, 6-3, 6-1. 

 

In consolation play, Lisandro Picardo (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) defeated Brenton James of Furman, 7-6, 6-2 before falling to Chatwinder Singh of FMU, 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.  

 

In B singles, Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordez, Venezuela) defeated Simon Taylor of Coastal, 6-4, 6-4.  Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Columbia) lost to Kevin Fleck of Clemson 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. 

 

In B two singles, Daniel Escobedo (Zocatecas, Mexico) 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.  Matt Stanley (Kingsport, Tenn.) lost to Alex Doan of Furman, 6-2, 6-0.
