JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 26, 2005) - East Tennessee State junior Jennifer Sartor (Toronto, Ontario) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, announced by the Conference office on Monday.  The junior is the first ETSU volleyball player to win the A-Sun honor since joining the Conference this past summer.

Sartor helped the Lady Bucs to a 2-0 stand during the week of Sept. 19, including a 3-0 win over in-state rival Chattanooga last Tuesday, as well as a 3-1 victory over Campbell for ETSU's first-ever A-Sun win, last Friday evening.

Sartor led the Lady Bucs with 27 kills in two matches, boasting a .317 hitting percentage for the week, while posting 3.86 kills per game.  The junior managed 60 attack attempts on the week, while making only eight errors.

Sartor tallied a match-high 16 kills in the victory over Campbell, including a team-best six kills in the Lady Bucs' come-from-behind 31-29 win in the third game of the contest.  Against Chattanooga, Sartor posted 11 kills, swinging .310 for the match.

Also playing well defensively, Sartor recorded 23 digs in last week's pair of matches, averaging 3.29 digs per frame.  She also tallied two serving aces, tying her for the most on the team during the week.

For the season, Sartor is ranked first on the team in hitting percentage at .287, and second on the team in kills per game with 3.13.  Her 163 kills on the year, are tied for the most on the squad.  Sartor's .287 average is also ranked fourth in the A-Sun.

Sartor and the Lady Bucs, now 8-5, 1-0 A-Sun, on the season, continue action on Monday, as they host King College at 7 p.m., in Brooks Gym.  ETSU heads back into A-Sun play on Saturday, October 1, welcoming Gardner-Webb to Johnson City, for a 2 p.m. start time.
