Buccaneer Baseball signs C.J. Lee to National Letter of Intent

Monday, July 25, 2005

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 25, 2005) - East Tennessee State head baseball coach Tony Skole announced Monday that Walters State Community College outfielder C.J. Lee (Bristol, Va.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Buccaneers beginning next season.

At Walters State last season, Lee hit .360 with 44 RBIs and 25 stolen bases, leading the Senators to a 46-16 record and a berth in the Junior College World Series. Following the season, Lee was named second-team All-TJCAA.

Lee lettered all four of his seasons at Virginia High, earning all-state honors twice and all-region honors on three occasions. He was a preseason High School All-American prior to his senior season and was named district and Southwest Virginia Player of the Year following that year.

"We are extremely excited C.J. Lee is coming to ETSU," said Skole. "He comes to us from two very successful programs in Virginia High and Walters State. This past season C.J. was one of the top junior college outfielders in Tennessee. C.J. is a tremendous young man and an exciting player that will immediately make an impact on our success."
