Nashville, Tenn. (March 11, 2006) - Senior Jeremy Hall (Gray, Tenn.) delivered his best outing of the season, dominating Lipscomb for eight innings, and the Buccaneers broke open a tight game with eight runs in the middle innings to post a 14-3 A-Sun victory over Lipscomb Saturday afternoon.  ETSU has now won seven of its last nine contests.

The Bucs (11-7, 2-0) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on junior C.J. Lee's (Bristol, Va.) two-RBI single to center field.  Juniors Michael Courtney () and Stephen Douglas (Kennesaw, Ga.) each reached with singles, and Lee drove them home, lining a full-count offering from Lipscomb starter Matt Schnelly into center.

ETSU broke the game open in the fourth, posting four unearned runs courtesy of three costly Lipscomb errors.  With runners at first and second and two outs, Courtney reached on shortstop Tadd Brewer's error.  Senior Shane Byrne (Johnson City, Tenn.) followed with a grounded that squirted between first baseman Justin Sanders legs.  The bases cleared when right fielder Zac Miller booted the ball, and could not locate it on the turf.

The Bucs cemented their lead with two-run innings in the fifth and sixth for a 10-1 advantage.

Hall (4-1) was masterful in picking up his fourth win.  After allowing a first inning single and a walk, he retired 15 consecutive batters, not allowing another base runner until the sixth; at one point retiring 15 consecutive Bison batters.  Hall scattered six hits and surrender just two earned runs while striking out four in his eight innings of work.  Schnelly (2-1) went four innings, giving up six runs (only two earned) on seven hits, taking his first loss of the season.

Senior Josiah Glafenhein (Knoxville, Tenn.) went 1-for-4 with a run scored, extending his hitting streak to 11 games.  Lee led the Bucs from the plate, going 4-for-6 with three RBI.  Douglas also finished the day 4-for-6, and added two RBI.

The two squads will conclude the series Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. eastern time.
