(April 27, 2007) - After posting its record 21st conference title last week at the Atlantic Sun Championships, the ETSU men's golf had four off its members garner conference honors as the league announced its 2006-07 postseason award winners Friday afternoon.

The Bucs swept away the conference's top-three individual honors, as Rhys Davis (Bridgend, Wales) took home the Player of the Year accolade, Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) was named Freshman of the Year and Fred Warren won the Coach of the Year award. Junior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) joined Davies on the first-team selection list, while Power was a second-team selection as well as an All-Freshman Team pick.

Davies, a three-time Player of the Year winner, enjoyed a spectacular season as he became the nation's top golfer according to Golfweek/Sagarin national rankings. The Bridgend, Wales native captured three individual titles during the season and was also tabbed Golfer of the Month three times, marking a conference best. He claimed his first title at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges, which was held in nearby Jonesborough, and he posted back-to-back titles, winning the Seminole Intercollegiate and General Jim Hackler Intercollegiate in March. Davies broke par an astonishing 64 percent of the time, including 15 rounds in the 60's.

It did not take long for Power to make a name for him around the league, as he helped guide the Bucs to the 2007 conference championship after shooting an individual best 3-under 210 at The Golf Club at Sanctuary Cove. After winning the A-Sun title, Power cracked Golfweek's top-50, as he currently stands as the nation's 46th best golfer. Power began the 2007 portion of the schedule on fire as he finished tied for second at the PING Arizona Collegiate, which led him to receive February's Golfer of the Month honors.

Shaw earned his second consecutive appearance on the A-Sun First Team list after posting a very successful season. Like Power, Shaw cracked Golfweek's top-50 list on Monday, as he is ranked the nation's 45th best golfer. During the season, Shaw posted two top-10 finishes as he tied for fifth at both the PING Arizona Intercollegiate and most recently at the Atlantic Sun Championships, marking the best finishes of his career.

Head Coach Fred Warren was voted Coach of the Year, which was voted on by his peers after winning his first A-Sun Championship of his career. The award marks the eighth time Warren received the honor, while it is the first time he won in the A-Sun. Warren guided the Bucs to their school-record 21st championship being the first since 2005.

The men's golf team currently waits where they will play at NCAA Regionals, after earning the conference's automatic bid earlier this month. The pairings are set to be announced Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. ET at NCAAsports.com
