JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 15, 2006) - With ETSU set to renew its rivalry with longtime Southern Conference foe Chattanooga and pre-game festivities planned for former Buccaneer great Calvin Talford Wednesday night inside Memorial Center, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is encouraging fans to arrive early to insure they can purchase a ticket.

With new seating limitations in Memorial Center keeping capacity at just 5,740 fans, ETSU administration expects a sell out for the first time this season. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

"We're meeting one of our long standing rivals, we're honoring Calvin Talford, and we have a special No. 24 jersey replica pin giveaway to the first 2,000 fans. There are just a lot of reasons for people to attend this game," said ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dave Mullins. "With the new life safety plan and fire code requirements, our fans need to understand that we do not have unlimited seating anymore. They can't just wait until game time and expect to have a ticket."

The Bucs (1-1) and Mocs (1-0) have not met since the 2004-05 season when the two teams faced off in the Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinals. In the all-time series, the Mocs lead 40-31 and have won the last three meetings. However, prior to those games, the Bucs had won four straight including back-to-back wins in the Southern Conference Tournament Championship Game back in 2003 and 2004.

For tickets, fans can order on-line at or call 423-439-ETSU (3878).
