JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2006) - Following a medical procedure on Friday, it was confirmed that ETSU senior guard Travis Strong (Memphis) will miss the entire 2006-07 season with a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

"We knew on Monday there was a 90 percent chance that this was a serious injury," said ETSU head coach Murry Bartow. "Unfortunately, today's surgery confirmed what we had thought and Travis will miss the rest of the season."

Strong injured the knee last Saturday and underwent an MRI on Monday. Results of the MRI were received on Monday afternoon, but a definitive diagnosis was not made until Strong underwent surgery on Friday, a procedure which ultimately confirmed the extent of the injury.

Strong, who has scored 688 career points and finished fifth on the team a year ago with 10.4 ppg, will now undergo the process of applying for a medical redshirt season. He would be eligible to return to the floor for the 2007-08 season.
