JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 29, 2007) - The 2007 edition of the Champions of Tomorrow soccer camp concluded June 7 after four days of hard work and fun. The camp which served 115 campers focused on skill work and tactical aspects while concluding each day with games.

The ETSU Skills Camp for ages 5-8 was held from 9 a.m. to noon. An Elite Skills Camp that was added this year for girls age 9-19 took place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camps focused on the basic skills of soccer, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and receiving. The campers also enjoyed small-group training and small-sided fun games to put their skills into action. The Goal Keeper Camp for boys and girls ages 9-18 was also held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camp was designed to build the basic skills of goal keeping in a fun, competitive, and creative atmosphere.

The staff for the Champions of Tomorrow soccer camp consisted of current ETSU women's soccer players, former professional players, a director of coaching, and current college coaches.

"I was very excited to have the high level of players at the Champions of Tomorrow Soccer Camp. Bringing in quality coaches only helps to have quality players attend your camp. It was a great week of skills training. I feel that everyone learned something that week from players to coaches," said ETSU women's soccer coach Heather Henson. "When you can have a camp that allows for learning to occur on both sides of the team that is success. The young ladies and men stayed focused during training and still have smiling faces every day. We look forward to continuing the Champions of Tomorrow Soccer Camp for many years."
