STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (April 1, 2008) - The ETSU women's golf team posted the day's low team score with a 304, which moved the Bucs up two spots to finish fourth following final round play Tuesday in the 15-team field at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State at the Eagles Landing Country Club's Lake Nine and New Nine courses.

For the second straight day, senior Maria Ringdahl (Farjestaden, Sweden) led the way individually, firing a 2-over 75 to finish tied for second, just two strokes back of champion Suzanne Stanely of Mississippi State. As a team, the 44th-ranked Bucs ended the event nine strokes behind  host Georgia State for the team championship, but ETSU did make up nine strokes on the final day of action.

"I'm proud of the girls for coming back today and I'm glad we got to play," said ETSU head coach Stefanie Reynolds Shelton, referring to the poor weather conditions early Tuesday. "We had a bad day yesterday and had to forget about it. We're going to take the good feeling we had today and remember that next week. We're not happy with the finish, but we were excited about today."

Along with Ringdahl, junior Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) also fired a 75 to tie for 17th, while sophomore Laura Jansone posted a 76 to tie for 25th.

The Bucs will return to play April 7th in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational, which will be the team's final tune up before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, which ETSU will host at The Ridges Golf and Country Club April 14-16.
