ETSU and Jacksonville face off in critical conference showdown on Sunday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 29, 2008) - The East Tennessee State softball team have won seven of its last 10 games, but after being swept by UNF on Friday the Lady Bucs lost some of their momentum. ETSU has the chance to get back on track this Sunday when they host

The Dolphins are not the most explosive team in the conference, but they definitely cause a lot of problems on the base paths. As a team, JU ranks last in the A-Sun with three home runs, but the Dolphins entered weekend play in second with 56 stolen bases. JU tallied four more on Friday at Kennesaw, pushing its total to 60 and have only been caught eight times.
Freshman shortstop Katie Kelly leads the club in hitting with her .316 average and also has a team-best 18 RBI. Senior right-hander Shannon Jensen is the ace of the Dolphins' pitching staff. Jensen is 7-10 with a 2.50 ERA (41 ER/115.0 IP) and is the league leader with 33 appearances and four saves.
