Tuesday, August 28, 2007

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 28, 2007) - ETSU women's tennis coach Steve Brooks recently announced that Romanian standout Andra Voinea (Brasov, Romania) has joined the Lady Bucs for the 2007-08 season.

Voinea, who was ranked in the top 10 in Romania will join local standout Tara Sheets (Weber City, Va.) for the upcoming season. Sheets finished her career at Gate City High School with 11 Virginia State Championship titles.

"Andra is left-handed with a good forehand which will give us a different look and will help with diversity in practice," said Brooks. "Both Tara and Andra will push for a place in the starting line-up."

The Lady Bucs will open the 2007-08 season when they travel to the UNC-Wilmington Tournament, September 7-9.
