JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 13, 2008) - ETSU volleyball head coach Lindsey Devine announced Tuesday the signing of two more Bucs to the 2008-09 class. The Bucs signed McKayla Barber (Columbus, Ind.) and Mallory Kiley (Palm Harbor, Fla.) to complete the 2008-09 class.

"I feel very fortunate to have both McKayla and Mallory join our team in 2008," Devine said. "They are exciting to watch and I am excited about their future at ETSU."

Last December the Bucs signed Jennifer Neice (Allen, Texas), Jamie Stancliff (Advance, N.C.), and Kelley Coker (South Bend, Ind.) as coach Devine has brought in some good young players to fill an already young team that lost a couple great players in Kaena Apana (Waianae, Hawaii) and Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

Kiley, a 6-foot-0 middle from Palm Harbor University High School, was a First- Team All-County selection as a senior playing in the Pinella County Senior All-Star Game and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star game. A four year letter winner, Kiley was named senior captain and earned all conference honors her junior and senior years. Kiley has national experience as well playing for the USA Developmental Team in 2005-06 and attended the Junior Olympics in Tampa Bay in 2007 as her U17 team finished second. Kiley also played club for Tampa Bay United.

"Mallory is an intense competitor, who demands a lot from herself when she plays," Devine said. "She is a very offensive middle than can hit anywhere along the net with control and power."

Barber, a 5-foot-10 middle from Columbus East High School, a two sport athlete was named First-Team All-State and was a South 4A All-Star Team selection. Barber was ranked sixth in the state in kills per game as she had a 41.9 hitting percentage. Barber also earned First-Team All-State honors in basketball as her team was the state runner-up in 2007. Barber also played club volleyball for Circle City.

"McKayla is a gifted athlete who has continued to improve every time she steps out on the court this club season," Devine said. "With her strength and speed, I expect her to be ready to be dominant freshman middle."
