JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2007) - The ETSU volleyball team could not get anything going as they fell to Liberty in Brooks Gym Monday night snapping a record 13-game home winning streak, 24-30, 27-30, 24-30.

"You have to give credit to Liberty. They were on a mission tonight after we went to their place last year and beat them," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "We did some good things out there tonight at times, but we also showed our weaknesses. We need to learn from those weaknesses and get things turned around."

The Bucs were led by freshman Desiree Dyck (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan), who had 16 kills in the match. Senior Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.), had eight kills and tallied 6 digs for the Bucs, while Kristan Provchy (Norton, Ohio), collected eight kills as well. Freshman Laura Waddell (Lynchburg, Va.), had seven kills.

Whitney Cogburn (Kingsport, Tenn.), quarterbacked the Bucs offense with 39 assists, seven digs and three kills. Senior Kaena Apana (Waianae, Hawaii), led the Bucs defensively with 16 digs.

"It is all about conference, but you can still learn from games like tonight," Devine said. "At one point we had a very young lineup out on the court, and with experience it will get better. We are just going to keep on fighting and go from there."

With the loss the Bucs fall to 14-11 overall and 5-2 in conference play. The Bucs will travel to Boone, N. C. Wednesday at 7 p.m. to take on Appalachian State in their final non-conference road game of the season. The Bucs finish the week at home on Saturday against conference opponent Campbell at 2 p.m. in Brooks Gym.
