ETSU women's soccer earns NSCAA Academic Award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 28, 2008) - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced East Tennessee State women's soccer program as a NSCAA team Academic Award winner. The soccer team coached by Heather Henson posted a 3.25 average GPA for the 2006-07 school year to earn the honors.

 

"I am very proud of the ladies and their efforts in the classroom. They take pride in their academics and constantly look to raise their academic expectations. The soccer program has made a true commitment to being student-athletes and representing ETSU at a level of excellence," said Henson.

 

A total of 415 intercollegiate soccer programs (114 men, 301 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 school year.
