Buccaneer Coaches Caravan set to launch August 28th

Thursday, August 09, 2007

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2007) - The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Thursday the dates of its second-annual Coaches Caravan, which will be conducted to help promote ETSU Pride around the area.

The Buccaneer road tour will be making nine stops across the southeast region, including trips to Atlanta, Jacksonville, and the Tri-Cities area. ETSU coaches and administrative staff will be promoting the upcoming 2007-08 athletic season at each function, as well as build Buccaneer awareness throughout the entire region. According to Director of Regional Athletic Advancement Kevin Bostian, the goal of the Buccaneer Caravan will be to promote ticket sales, Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association membership, and generally get people talking about the Buccaneers.

"This is a great opportunity for our coaches and staff to go out in the community and create awareness for the ETSU athletic program," Bostian said. "It also gives our fans the chance to meet the coaches on a personal level, and learn more about what is going on inside Buccaneer athletics."

The first of nine Caravans' kicks off with a visit to Atlanta's ESPN Zone on August 28, which will then be followed by a trip to Jacksonville on Aug. 29. The final seven functions will be hosted around the Tri-Cities region beginning Aug. 31 in Kingsport. The events last through Oct. 9, when the Caravan makes its final stop at the Johnson City Double Tree. Each event will feature food and beverages, as well as opportunities for fans to talk with ETSU coaches, purchase tickets or merchandise, and learn more about the Bucs.
