NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 25, 2008) - The ETSU baseball team dropped game one of a three game series to Lipscomb Friday night at Lee Marsh Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., 4-1.

ETSU (12-30, 8-17) and Lipscomb each had 8 hits in the game, while the Bucs left 11 runners stranded. Starter Dustin Plumlee (Powell, Tenn.) pitched seven scoreless innings for the Bucs scattering six Lipscomb hits and striking out five.

Bart Roark (Mountain City, Tenn.) got the Bucs on the board in the top of the second as he doubled down the left field line scoring Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.) from first to give ETSU an early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Plumlee worked his way out of a bases loaded jam as he struck out Justin Sanders and got Shane Simpkins to ground out to second.

Lipscomb tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a Caleb Joseph RBI single through the right side to make the score 1-1. Later in the inning, Lipscomb scored the go ahead run on a swinging but down the first base line by Simpkins, and score two more runs on an ETSU error to make the score 4-1.

Roark went a perfect 3-for-3 for the Bucs with two doubles and a RBI. Chris Rankhorn (Gallatin, Tenn.) also had a good offensive day as he went 3-for-4.

The Bucs are back in action tomorrow as they will take on Lipscomb in game two at 7 p.m. EST
