ETSU Baseball goes to bat for child abuse awareness
Friday, April 18, 2008 JOHNSON CITY, Baseball Blue Day is being held in conjunction with the April observation of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Its goal is to help prevent child abuse by raising awareness and support for the work going on locally to end it.
"We are very excited to be teaming up in the support of the Children's "It is a great opportunity to increase awareness regarding the unspeakable crime of child abuse," said Sara Hacker, marketing and promotions coordinator of ETSU athletics. "It shouldn't hurt to be a child." Gates open at 1 p.m. and there will be free admission for all children, pre-game tours of "ETSU athletics is committed to improving life in our regions, and we are honored to participate in this most worthy cause," said Amber Birdwell, education training coordinator for ETSU athletics. "Baseball Blue Day is not only a great opportunity for us to show our support for Child Abuse Prevention Month, but also a great time to build relationships with our families and communities."
